About the program

Jesuit Social Services operates a range of programs for disadvantaged young people, families and communities from various operational sites. We provide a number of practical programs to participants with multiple, complex needs, often including disability and interactions with the justice system.

The organisation is seeking registration and accreditation for NDIS by the new financial year, including a range of support activities related to our residential Specialist Forensic Disability Accommodation program (Perry House). A large number of participants we work with across a range of programs have NDIS plans, with NDIS supports being delivered by other providers. We do not currently deliver services as an NDIS provider, and we recognise that there is an opportunity to provide our participants with strong, cohesive supports by stepping into this space.

About the role

Sitting within the Business Support unit and reporting to the General Manager Business Support, this role will be responsible for managing the transition to NDIS service provision. Initially the transition will be limited to some Programs within the Housing and Complex Needs portfolio, and will progress to other programs as appropriate and viable.

We are seeking a self-starter who can drive the transition process to full NDIS service provision, including:

  • Drafting and maintaining the detailed processes and data capture requirements to streamline the administration and invoicing procedures.
  • Assisting with the NDIS accreditation process.
  • Delivering ongoing training to Jesuit Social Services staff on NDIS administration.
  • Ensuring all delivered services are charged to the most appropriate part of the participant's plan.
  • Monitoring all services provided against targets and participant plans to maximise the financial viability for Jesuit Social Services.
  • NDIS-related project work, including assessing other potential program areas that may be able to offer NDIS services.

This is a newly created position with the option to work full or part time (0.8 EFT). The successful applicant will have the option to be based at either Richmond (Central Office) or Sunshine offices, with travel between sites as required. During the COVID-19 pandemic they will need to work remotely until we can resume regular office routines in early 2021.

Whilst this role is not participant-facing, it is expected to develop strong knowledge of our Practice Framework and Our Way of Working. The position is initially for a two year period, with the option for it to be extended subject to operational requirements.

Candidate requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Significant experience of the NDIS/NDIA, as either a NDIS support coordinator, NDIS Local Area Coordinator, or NDIS Plan Manager.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience with policy/ policy development and implementation
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with a capacity to manage expectations of multiple stakeholders
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Working with Children Check card and willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
  • Current driver’s licence
