The Next Steps Program is a highly regarded Specialist Homelessness Service, funded by the Department of Health & Human Service.
Next Steps offers a unique multi component, early intervention program providing intensive case management and residential support to young people between 16 and 24 who have involvement with the justice system and are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Dillon House is a key component of the Next Steps program, providing structured residential 24/7 supported accommodation for up to three young people at any given time for a 12 month placement, with the option of extension if desired, with the goal of securing appropriate, affordable, long-term housing post tenancy.
The Case Manager utilises assertive outreach to engage and support 10 young people, some of whom may be living at Dillon house.
This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessment and case planning in assisting young people with traumatic histories and a range of complex issues.
As well as this the Case Manager works with a range of stakeholders by participating and leading care teams.
This includes working within the homelessness and housing system to secure suitable, safe and stable accommodation.
