Johnson Recruitment

The Organisation:

Our client is a national not for profit partner to almost 400 community organisations delivering over 200,000 sport, recreation, arts and employment participation programs supporting socially inclusive, lifesaving opportunities.

As the business goes through a period of exciting strategic growth and change, there is a requirement for a well networked strategic leader to take ownership of the operational aspects of the organisation in a newly created role.

The Role:

Reporting to, and working closely with the CEO, you will play an integral role in providing continuous improvement modelling to existing governance processes and driving a focused approach to securing and reporting on, Government funding initiatives and commercial non-Government contract opportunities.

Specifically, you will be accountable for:

  • Leading, reviewing and reporting on multiple programs on a national basis
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and year end reports
  • Developing tenders and proposals with Government and Commercial partners
  • Promoting programs in key sectors including mental health, homelessness, drug alcohol and abuse

The Candidate:

Our client runs a lean model of operational success built on a preparedness to “get involved” by all its staff.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Diploma or Degree level qualification in Sport, Mental Health, Disability or welfare related fields
  • 5 years’ experience in an equivalent senior management role
  • Demonstrated ‘hands-on’ experience in operational program management, monitoring financials and establishing new opportunities for sustainable growth
  • A hands-on enthusiastic approach to community, continuous improvement modelling and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong links or involvement with organised sports and/or recreation

Demonstrated experience in successfully securing, managing, evaluating and reporting on Government funding, tenders and grants is highly desirable, however experience in managing complex contract reporting in a commercial setting will also be viewed positively.

The Offer:

This role is a full-time position and will attract an executive salary commensurate with experience. The client would also consider a more senior person on a 4 day per week arrangement.
