Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia, employing more than 700 employees and delivering more than 60 programs across Victoria. VACCA is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal community. With a focus on ‘healing’, ‘protecting’ and ‘connecting,’ VACCA provides culturally grounded services for Aboriginal children, families and adults that distinguishes it from mainstream organisations.
Reporting to the Executive Director Strategy and Services, the Director will take strategic responsibility for overseeing and developing service outcomes for some of Victoria’s most important and precious indigenous programs. The Director is responsible for 4 direct reports, overseeing The Aboriginal Therapeutic Residential Care Program, which aims to provide a culturally safe, nurturing and healing home environment for children, meeting their individual needs using a culturally therapeutic approach and The Better Futures Program, northern region, which aims to support youth in transitioning from care, with support, to adulthood.
The Director will have a portfolio responsibility to ensure integration across VACCA’s youth services. Whilst not directly managing other youth services, the position will take a lead role in the redevelopment of VACCA’s youth services to ensure a seamless client service access experience.

The Director, Statewide Residential Services & Youth Engagement position is offered on a permanent contract with a competitive salary of $150,000 to $165,000, including super. In addition, you will be able to access attractive PBI/NFP salary packaging and remote working options.
