VACRO is a non-government, non-denominational organisation working with people in contact with the criminal justice system and their families. Founded in 1872 (as the Discharged Prisoners’ Aid Society of Victoria), VACRO works closely with government and non-profit organisations.
The Family Visits Program aims to promote family connectedness, build and strengthen women’s engagement skills, and cultivate positive pro-social relationships through digital video sessions. Bring your well-developed interpersonal skills and passion to support families impacted by the justice system.
This position will commence working remotely from home and from VACRO’s friendly, Melbourne CBD office. However, it is envisaged over coming months this will change to include some prison-based work mainly at Dame Phyllis Frost Centre but also at Tarrengower Prison. Occasional evening work is required. This role involves implementation of a new program so flexibility to adapt to changes for successful program roll out is essential.
VACRO is an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to staff wellbeing. We provide extensive on-boarding training and ongoing professional development for staff, amongst other benefits. This role is classified at Level 5 (pay point dependent on qualifications and experience) SCHADS 2010 Award.
