Cancer Council Australia (CCA) will appoint an outstanding leader as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a unique and important opportunity to lead a national organisation committed to best practice research and application to cancer prevention, treatment and support.

Reporting to the Board of Cancer Council Australia, the CEO is accountable to the Board for leadership, strategy and operational execution of the Council to progress its vision, mission and values. The CEO has responsibility for relationships with federal government to advance cancer control. The CEO represents the Council in the public sphere to extend its respected profile in the community and related positive media presence.

The successful candidate is likely to be a clinician or public health professional a strong knowledge of cancer control, supported by senior executive experience. With relevant tertiary qualifications, you will have demonstrated experience in responding to community‑wide public health or related challenges through your work in fields such as research, prevention, treatment, policy and program development and support. As a confident and influential communicator, you can demonstrate values consistent with those of Cancer Council. You will understand the business of government and how to achieve success in a federated environment.

Cancer Council is Australia’s leading cancer charity comprising Cancer Cancer Australia (CCA) and its eight members, the State and Territory Cancer Councils.
