Why this role?

JDRF are looking to add a Digital Marketing Associate to their creative, dynamic marketing team. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, the role will help build and shape the digital marketing function in JDRF. Join a team tasked with raising awareness, lead generation, revenue, and retention outcomes, which support our Mission of finding a cure for type 1 Diabetes.

Ideally, with 2-3 years of experience, you will focus on developing your digital marketing skills and widening them to facilitate this truly broad marketing and communications role. Working as part of a lean team, you’ll have an opportunity to see programs end-to-end as well as learn the principles of brand planning and marketing strategy. This role has significant scope for growth. The role itself will focus on supporting our continuing digital transformation, developing new and innovative engagement strategies as well as playing a key role in two of our most exciting and important activities.

Role Overview

As a Digital Marketing Associate, you will play a part in growing JDRF’s reach and understanding of our mission with key audiences. A natural brand communicator, you will understand the importance of brand equity and work with the wider organisation to cultivate and grow our audience in key areas through our digital channels.

The role requires an ability to contribute to acquisition, retention and fundraising that propel JDRF’s brand and fundraising. Success in this role relies upon a collaborative, solutions-focused approach to digital marketing, that recognises the reality of NFP businesses, and that fits within the key objectives of JDRF’s operational and strategic plans.

Key Accountabilities

Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Driving strategic campaigns across digital channels including social media, programmatic and paid search that build brand equity, retain supporters, generate leads and drive donations.
  • Coordinating with external agencies to brief, schedule and optimise engaging advertising campaigns on paid and owned digital channels.
  • Analysing and reporting on performance of digital marketing activities across all channels; providing insights derived from audience behaviour and engagement.
  • Support the delivery of key programs end-to-end including managing media channels, partners and internal stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver communication programs
  • Prepare briefs and proposals for agencies, managing their engagement and supporting the delivery of KPIs, in partnership with the wider team.
  • You will contribute to the wider success of the organisation by living JDRF values.

The right person will possess the following experience and qualifications:

Essential Capabilities

  • A want to learn and develop and become a well-rounded marketer with a not-for-profit background preferably – however, we’re open to people from agencies, but an understanding of the tenets of digital marketing strategy and their application will be important
  • Strong technical skills and experience with web products, CMS platforms and CRM (Sales Force preferable).
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and influencing skills including the ability to establish rapport, build relationships, generate commitment and motivate people.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to think laterally.
  • Highly organised with strong project management skills, including the development of work plans with tasks, timelines and responsibilities.
  • Comfort working with NFP budgets and measures of success.
  • Accountable, responsible and driven individual with sound judgement and problem-solving capabilities who can work autonomously and as a member of a wider team.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and agile with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience growing digital channels, monitoring trends and driving success in digital platform delivery.

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong digital skills across all social media platforms, Ad Managers, SEO, Google Analytics and CRM – Sales Force preferred.
  • Strong written communications skills, including experience in drafting documents, position papers, reports, briefings and correspondence
  • Strong oral communications skills, including the ability to negotiate and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Project management skills and proven ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Completion of a relevant tertiary degree.
