About the Role:

We are looking for full-time (38 hours) Community Education Practitioner to lead the program and practice, information & referral, social & emotional support and the development and implementation of intentional play-based learning programs at each of our OSHC services at:

  • Dutton Park State School
  • Bayview State School
  • Inner City Locations

This role falls under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. This role is paid at a Classification level 3.

As a Community Education Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist children to develop knowledge, understanding and skills that support learning positive behaviour and constructive social relationships
  • Provide children & families with appropriate referrals and resources
  • Analyse community data and create targeted responses in conjunction with the school leadership team
  • Develop and implement strategic inclusion plans supported by funding applications
  • Develop and implement targeted programs relevant to the needs to the needs of the cohort including children with disabilities, additional learning needs and complex behaviours
  • Develop and deliver training and mentoring to a team of Program Educators
  • Support and develop a culture for high-quality school-age education and family support services
  • Support the Service Manager to ensure appropriate standards of employee performance, conduct and capacity

Qualifications & Experience:

  • You will have a minimum of two years' into a Bachelor of Human Services or Social Work or equivalent accepted by Jabiru
  • You will have an approved Working with Children Check
  • You will have a current First Aid in Education & Care and CPR certification
