Welcome to Sydney's first successful ‘library of things’!
The mission of Inner West Tool Library is simple: To provide the tools for all people to live low waste and sustainable lives. We are driven by our vision of a future where all people can access the tools they need to create, connect and thrive.
Check out how we achieve this in our Impact Report.
We are seeking someone who is organised, personable and wants to be part of a small and passionate team making a difference in our community .
The Volunteer Coordinator manages all elements of volunteering for the Inner West Tool Library. In particular, assessing the organisation’s needs and then meeting those needs through the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers. The volunteer coordinator will manage and monitor all volunteer activities.
The goal for 2022 is to recruit & retain Tool Librarians and Tool Ninjas, ensuring the IWTL is staffed by a diverse range of volunteers.
This Volunteer Coordinator role is excellent for someone wanting to gain experience being part of a community organisation and in volunteer management and coordination. It also provides the opportunity to train volunteers in tool library management and library software.
This is an un-paid, part time position (the IWTL is 100% volunteer run). Although we often enjoy drinks and pizza during board meetings and volunteer get togethers, plus you get a very cool t-shirt!
6 hours coordination per month, plus onsite shifts (minimum 6 per year) and attending quarterly board meetings.
The IWTL open hours are Saturday mornings between 8.30am and 12pm. Your presence will not be required every week; however in order to understand the library operations and keep in touch with the volunteers, you will need to be available for some onsite shifts.
