Domestic Violence Action Centre works with individuals and communities to eliminate, prevent and respond to domestic and family violence, and sexual violence by:

  • Collaboratively providing quality support services;
  • Challenging social norms and structures that enable people to use violence/enable the use of violence;
  • Building awareness and capacity within the community; and encouraging egalitarian relationships.

Through high quality service delivery combined with education, training, awareness raising and activism against violence in all its forms, our hope is to use our passion as leaders to create a world free from gender violence.

The High Risk Team Coordinator is required to: Coordinate and take oversight responsibility for the Ipswich High Risk Team. Liaise closely with staff, Senior Workers and Team Leaders across DVAC in relation to High Risk Team matters. Provide some direct support to clients as part of their workload

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Human Resources
  • Assist the Team Leader with oversight and continual development of quality practice.
  • Working with the Ipswich High Risk Team core members to develop practice confidence.
  • Support to the Ipswich High Risk Team core members to actively problem solve.
  • Assisting with compliance and best practice within DVAC internally and with core and associate members of the Ipswich High Risk Team
  • Ability to act up in Team Leader role when required
  • Support the Ipswich High Risk Team core members with new staff inductions
  • Model, mentor, debrief and guide the High Risk Team Core members as required
  • Model, mentor, debrief and guide the Associate Members as required

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications in the human services field
  • Some experience and skills in leadership and mentoring of staff
  • Experience and skills in gender-based violence risk assessment, trauma informed practice, safety planning, crisis support, system advocacy, case management, supportive counselling
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Current driver’s licence and Blue Card

All DVAC staff are required to complete a National Police Check upon successful offer of position.
