Domestic Violence Action Centre

DVAC are leaders in creating freedom from gender violence and we are looking for a new Board member.

Lead by our dynamic Chairperson, Nick Thompson our Board and CEO Amie Carrington, DVAC are committed to providing high-quality services to women, children and young people who have experienced domestic and family violence or sexual violence in the Ipswich, Toowoomba and Darling Downs Region. DVAC works from a feminist perspective.

ABOUT THE ROLE

DVAC wishes to enhance the skills of its existing board with the appointment of one or two highly skilled Board Members with a proposed appointment date of November 2020.

As well as a demonstrated commitment to DVAC’s Mission we are particularly looking for expertise in the areas of:

  • Human Resources and/or Legal Profession

ABOUT YOU

Our Board Members need to have:

  • Time to commit to Board Meetings (up to 10 per year) and other relevant activities including sub-committees
  • Demonstrated high levels of personal integrity, a strong understanding of a board member’s legal and fiduciary responsibility, high-level inclusive communication skills and a sophisticated understanding of governance and strategic planning.
