Moreton Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (MATSICHS) is committed to providing holistic health care to improve the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Moreton Bay area. We have clinics across the Moreton Bay region including locations at Caboolture, Morayfield, Deception Bay, Margate and Strathpine.

About the Role?

As a Medical Receptionist across our MATSICHS clinics you will play an important role in our service delivery. Within this role you will provide quality customer service, effective and efficient administrative support and you will play an integral role in our overall patient engagement and attendance.

  • Provide high quality customer service to clients and community both in person and over the phone
  • Manage daily calendar appointments to achieve high booking and attendance rates
  • Provide general admin support to the Clinic Team including, scanning, photocopying, compilation of materials/folders, preparation for program activities
  • Confirm with patients follow up dates and next appointment dates
  • Manage daily MBS billing and claims for GP and Allied Health Services
  • Professional and efficient phone manner

About You?

Essentials:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role within the Healthcare industry
  • Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Officer Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous experience using patient information systems (MMEX)
  • Ability to communicate, engage effectively and work together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and organise workload with a high attention to detail
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Criminal History Check (willing to obtain one)
  • Valid Blue Card andDisability Worker Screening Check
  • Must have at least Dose 1 of the Covid-19 vaccine prior to commencement

Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
  • Current Certificate in CPR (willing to obtain)
