Islamic Relief Australia works within the Islamic Relief federation to deliver high-quality aid and development projects in line with our aims of alleviating suffering and ending poverty and inequality for all people around the world.

Who are we looking for?

Due to the growth of the organisation, the Fundraising and Community Relations (FCR) department is in need of a Community Fundraising Manager.

You will lead a team of energetic community fundraisers to create fundraising initiatives that will enable Islamic Relief Australia to achieve it fundraising targets and deliver on its humanitarian mission and strategic objectives.

You must have a strong commitment to our Islamic values and be passionate about making a difference and easing suffering globally. You take a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic approach to your work.

The Role:

  1. Provide Leadership and management for the community fundraising team.
  2. Provide strategic direction, create annual plans, and develop relevant fundraising procedures.
  3. Fundraising, Moves Management and Prospecting Supporting the FCR Director, Supporter Services Manager and key stakeholders in the development and implementation of the Prospecting and Moves Management systems for IRAUS to achieve its fundraising Goals and Objectives.
  4. Lead the fundraising team in undertaking all Fundraising Activities.
  5. Oversee the creation and delivery of community fundraising appeals nationwide.
  6. Support Corporate Services team in administration and compliance for State offices.

The Successful Candidate must have:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role, preferably in the not-for-profit sector
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in team management, including managing a team of fundraising staff, mobilising volunteers, and using HR systems
  • Graduate qualification in fundraising, marketing, communications, or another relevant field
  • Membership/engagement with a relevant professional body i.e., Fundraising Institute of Australia
  • Sound management, marketing, and professional fundraising experience
  • Knowledge of the Australian fundraising environment including applicable laws and regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Muslim community in Australia
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time pressures and managing multiple tasks
  • Strong facilitation and networking skills to build and manage diverse internal and external relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional relevant language skills will be highly regarded
  • Cross-cultural communication skills and knowledge of Islamic faith values
  • Experience in various software applications including Office 365, and CRM (The Raiser’s Edge) desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in organising and managing events, mobilising volunteers for social justice work
