About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Educational and Developmental Psychologist to work in our child-focused multidisciplinary team as part of the School Readiness initiative. This exciting program provides kindergartens with access to quality programs and supports to help children get the most out of their early learning. This is an opportunity for you to work across disciplines with kindergarten educators and families to build their capacity to support young children’s learning in areas of:

  • Improved speech, language, social interaction and early literacy outcomes;
  • Self regulation and positive and pro-social behaviours; and
  • Social and emotional wellbeing and mastery of everyday tasks.

The role will also see you:

  • Work collaboratively with kindergartens and Department of Education and Training (DET) staff across the Brimbank and Melton regions to determine how they will use Allied Health Entitlements as part of the School Readiness Program;
  • Building the capacity of educators and parents; and
  • Provide ongoing support for educators and families.

This position is classified under the Victorian Community Health Sector (Audiologists, Dietitians, Pharmacists & Psychologists) 2018-2021.

About You

This position is a perfect opportunity for clinicians early in their careers as a Psychologist who are passionate about sharing knowledge to help children within an early educational environment. This role is well suited to those who have experience working within a key worker model or have experience working with children in an early primary/preschool setting with families who may be experiencing hardship. Excellent communication and rapport building skills are essential to ensure positive relationships are built with internal and external stakeholders.
