Technical Support Officer - Data Visualisation - Flexible Location

Ironbark Sustainability

With increasing implementation of smart lighting technology, Ironbark is set to support councils across Australia to make use of this emerging technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance smart city outcomes.

A key component of our future support for councils will be the analysis and interpretation of an ever-increasing reservoir of smart cities data collected from IoT devices. Through our support, we aim to present relevant data in easy to understand formats so that our clients are able to:

  • Make informed decisions about how resources are allocated
  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • Improve asset management processes
  • Improve service delivery to residents and visitors of local council areas

The Technical Support Officer is responsible for supporting the street lighting team in three core areas:

  1. Data visualisation programming and front end development – Develop scripts to take our web maps to the next level, integrate additional data through APIs, add java-script functionality and fine-tune styling
  2. Data Management – Build fit-for purpose data management solutions, establish interfaces and systems to improve integration of data streams and to enable interaction, commercialisation, and utilisation of the data
  3. Strategy and product delivery – Help us develop our data visualisation strategy, create new products, such as maps and other data visualisation products, and plan forward to generate and utilise new opportunities in an emerging market

Other tasks may include the design of web maps for clients, data analytics as well as work on Ironbark’s digital asset base to directly support clients in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in close collaboration with our climate team.
