  • Hourly rates (including casual loading & penalty rates): $43.98ph (Mon-Fri), $61.57ph (Sat) & $79.16ph (Sun) + 9.5% super

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Contact Worker, who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of families & children, to join our Children's Contact Service in Coffs Harbour.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Children's Contact Service is a place for parents to engage in safe and friendly change-over / change-back and supervised contact in a relaxed, family environment. This position undertakes contact service duties with clients of the centre.

This role will:

  • Facilitate the promotion of Interrelate's Services within the community
  • Be well-informed about other relevant and appropriate community services in the area to facilitate effective referrals
  • Adhere to appropriate work practices to protect the confidentiality of clients
  • Participate in program and service evaluations

Along with a tertiary qualification in behavioural or social science, social work or equivalent, we are looking for strong capabilities in Conflict Management, Interpersonal Skills and Ethics.

This position will be Casual and will require availability on weekends as well as during the week.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Attainment of, or working towards, relevant tertiary qualifications in behavioural or social science, social work or equivalent
  2. Demonstrated experience working with families and children experiencing separation and family breakdown and high levels of family conflict
  3. Demonstrated experience working in one or more areas of clinical work, e.g. counselling, dispute resolution, relationship education, children's services, men's programs, family law, etc.
  4. Knowledge of child development, child protection, and family violence issues
  5. Demonstrated skills in managing high parental conflict whilst upholding the best interests of children
  6. Willing to be available to work on weekends and flexibility within working hours
  7. A current Apply First Aid (HLTAID003) certificate, or willingness to attain one within the first three months of employment
