The Role:
The purpose of this role is to supervise the Tenancy Services Team and support its goals in fostering continuous improvement and successful, long-term tenancies within a Community Housing Program.
The Responsibilities:
- Tenancy management; support the end to end process for new, ongoing and vacating tenancies, maintain tenancy records & databases, referring tenants to support services where necessary, supporting co-operative members & tenants and conducting property inspections.
- Arrears management; monitor rent payments and act on rental arrears, establish and finalise rent accounts, recovery of outstanding rent, complaints management.
- Team management; supervise the Tenancy Services team, performance reviews and training, recruitment and inductions of new staff.
- Prepare VCAT applications, attend VCAT tribunal hearings, assist in resolving RTA breaches.
The Candidate:
- Working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 and processes required by the Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal is a must.
- Experience working within a community housing or community development organisation is a must.
- Proven experience in a similar managerial position.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
