About the role

In this role, you monitor and moderate online discussion in the peer support forums across ReachOut’s youth and parents’ services. You work collaboratively with the community members to build strong and safe online communities and to make sure the service users feel heard and supported by their peers. You communicate every day with the volunteer moderators who play a critical role in supporting and engaging the community. You will often be required to respond to high risk situations with service-users that will require sound judgement to manage the mental health challenges and the impact of this on others.

About you

This role suits someone who:

• Has experience working with young people and practices clear boundaries and self-care
• Has a good understanding of Duty of Care principles and is confident assessing and responding to levels of risk and harm
• Believes in taking a collaborative approach and is committed to working as a team to develop creative ways to engage the online community
• Displays empathy and compassion in their work.
