The Role

As an L&D Instructional Designer you will be responsible for the end-to-end learning development and design: consult, design and deliver innovative, cost-effective blended learning solutions. You will use contemporary instructional design methodologies to develop high quality learning solutions and resources that improve performance. You will also be responsible for supporting the implementation of our new Learning Management System (LMS). As an LMS administrator you will respond to the LMS user queries and support requests, performing routine maintenance and reporting tasks.

Key Accountabilities

Instructional Design

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to scope learning needs, plan and develop unique digital, facilitated and on-the-job learning.
  • Develop and implement a range of learning experiences including: eLearns, animations, instructional videos, face-to-face and virtual workshops, on-the-job or self-paced activities, gamification learning.
  • Apply adult learning, adaptive and/or continuous learning principles to instructional design.
  • Problem solve and adapt to the changing needs of the project and stakeholders.
  • Work at pace in an environment of continuous change and competing priorities.
  • Liaise with the external training providers to customise training content and understand the terms of use.
  • Ability to work autonomously, creating project plans and managing own time to meet milestones.
  • Utilise Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline), Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop), video editing tools (Adobe Premiere or similar) and MS Office.

LMS Administration

  • Assist in the implementation of the new LMS
  • Perform system administration tasks
  • Support the production of programs and courses including:
    • Video editing
    • Building courses in LMS
    • Testing and quality assurance of programs and courses.
  • Respond to user queries and support requests via email or telephone
  • Troubleshoot system problems and escalate to the vendor where appropriate
  • Run existing reports and configure and run new reports as required
  • Support system enhancements and version updates.

Professional Development

  • Remain up to date in Learning and Instructional Design trends and advise the L&D team.
  • Remain up to date with learning trends in disability sector and advise the L&D team.
  • Participate in self-directed Personal and Professional Development and apply learnings on the job

To be successful you’ll have

  • A depth of experience in instructional design - working on end-to-end learning projects including analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Articulate 360 and Rise.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Intermediate skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator as well as Adobe Audition. Knowledge of Vyond application will be a bonus.
  • Significant experience to develop digital learning solutions, using Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • LMS Administration experience.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently but also within a collaborative team environment.
  • Multimedia and video production experience is desirable.
  • L&D experience in a health care setting (preferred but not essential).
