The Role

Indigo Junction is a not-for-profit community service organisation based in Midland with over 40 years’ experience in working with the local community. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will manage the finance, business operations and corporate responsibilities of the organisation. This role will ensure Indigo Junction delivers on its contractual and operational obligations, while ensuring responsive and strategic systems are in place to monitor and improve quality, performance and financial targets to drive sustainability and growth.

While the position is predominantly a finance role, we have broadened the position description to include other corporate services. This is a role which will grow with the growth of the organisation and the successful applicant’s capacity to develop and meet the challenges of the organisation’s increasing profile and impact on community.

Indigo Junction’s revenue base has increased from $3.8 million (2018) to $7 million (2022-2023) and is currently undertaking funded capital works of over $10 million. This role is key to ensuring policies, systems and processes are streamlined to support this growth within a robust financial framework and relevant standards. Other responsibilities in this role include:

  • Refining and managing the organisation’s financial framework, including financial reporting, budgeting, systems development and policy.
  • Ensure the organisations taxation and legal obligations are met in accordance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Develop strategies and execute the implementation, maintenance and upgrades of technology and data management.
  • Manage the delivery of administrative, secretarial and governance services to the organisation.
  • Manage external contractors who provide business services to the organisation including oversight of the outsourced accounting function.
  • Support the CEO and Board through the provision of strategic advice and assistance in the development of new projects.

Skills Required

You will have demonstrated 'hands-on' leadership experience and extensive involvement in a financial and operational management role. Demonstrated experience in managing organisational budgets and financial affairs to meet accounting standards and financial frameworks is essential for this role.

You will also possess:

  • Strategic planning experience and a demonstrated ability to carry out strategic initiatives
  • Strong financial and budget management, reporting and analytical skills
  • Understanding of human resources and personnel management
  • Strong IT, data, quality and risk management skills
  • Proven change management skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Innovative thinking with demonstrated capability to work with others to problem solve
  • Qualification in Business, Management, Commerce, Accounting or related discipline
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and other statutory requirements
