About the Role

Inclusion WA are looking for autonomous and creative people who believe EVERYONE can participate in and be connected to their community. Mentors work flexibly alongside people with disability and/or mental health issues to support them in achieving their goals. We have casual and part time roles available.

We are currently recruiting for clients located across the Perth Metro area. Please note in your application the suburb you live in.

Responsibilities of a Mentor

The key responsibility of a Mentor is to work directly with individuals supporting them to achieve their goals. This may include:

  • Supporting individuals to gain independence in everyday life and learn new skills
  • Connecting individuals with recreational, sporting or community groups
  • Supporting individuals to find and maintain meaningful work in open employment
  • Working collaboratively with key people in an individual's life
  • Role model and advocate for people living with disability in the community
  • Administration tasks such as writing case notes, entering timesheets and organising support sessions with clients.

Required Attributes

  • Creativity and outside-the-box thinking
  • Ability to adapt your mentorship to a number of people from diverse backgrounds whilst maintaining professional boundaries
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High standard of admin and computer skills
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Flexibility, hours may include evening and weekend work.

It is important to note that if you are a successful applicant, you will need to provide or be able to obtain the following documents before commencing work with Inclusion WA:

  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • WA Driver’s License and have reliable car
  • Working with Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate
  • COVID Vaccination Certificate
  • Infection Control COVID 19 Certificate
