Inala Community House is a progressive, community-based organisation, based in the south-west suburbs of Brisbane. We have been providing a range of responses to local communities for over 50 years and remain committed to making a real difference in the lives of those in the community in which we serve.
Inala Community House operates a number of programs including two child protection services in Out of Home Care and Family Intervention.
This role is within the Out of Home Care Service. It is a full-time locum management position with a contract running until September 2021.
In this rewarding and diverse role, you will have the opportunity to improve the lives of children in foster and kinship care.
You will achieve this by leading a dynamic, passionate, small team and mentoring them in their roles. You will support staff to monitor and support carers in providing care that meets the Standards of Care.
You will be responsible for leading the Out of Home Care Service and ensuring that services provided are high-quality, efficient and compliant with all required standards. You will oversee the recruitment, assessments, renewals and training of carers. You will also organise internal and external carer events in partnership with the Department and other agencies.
In this role, you will work closely with the Family Intervention Service and provide support to this Service as needed.

In return you will receive $44.32 - $46.27 per hour (subject to experience) + super, flexible working hours by negotiation, access to generous salary packing and emergent training. You will also be part of a diverse community organisation where you can learn about, interact with and participate in our other services including NDIS, Community Engagement and Family Intervention.
As part of this role you will be required to take shifts on the on-call roster. Please note this is a phone support service only and an additional allowance will be paid for this work in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
Please note, the successful applicant will be subject to a range of security checks in accordance with the Child Protection Act 1999 and will need to hold a Suitability (Blue) Card during the term of their employment. Please note that it an offence for a disqualified person to sign a blue card application form.
The applicant must also be able to pass an LCS2 check with the Department of Child Safety as required.
