The Role

We’ve created a new role of General Manager as the organisation has recently embraced an exciting new phase of growth as we enter into our third year with a new Board of Directors. Working closely with the Board to rollout strategies and focus areas, the GM will have full accountability for the operations and activities to deliver the goals and objectives whilst leading a culture of inclusivity, accountability and acceptance.

Your accountabilities

  • Provide vision, inspiration and leadership to a team of 15 and a crew of up to 60 onsite volunteers
  • Oversee day-to-day operation of the company working collaboratively with direct reports
  • Assure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
  • Manage the company’s assets, licenses and certifications
  • Development of a business plan that aligns with the strategic goals of the Board
  • Lead the development and implementation of a marketing strategy that supports the overall purpose and aim of CGA
  • Establish, measure and report on agreed targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and quality management
  • Actively review operational systems & processes and make ongoing improvements in line with best practice
  • Oversee and manage budgeting, reporting, and auditing working collaboratively with the Directors and external Accountants
  • Build alliances, networks and partnerships with other organisations including local council and neighbours

Who are you?

Firstly, you are an enthusiastic leader able to embrace change, provide strong leadership with the ability to motivate, inspire and foster a team environment.

You will have:

  • Holistic management skills and an understanding of the importance and relevance of person-centred leadership
  • Proven ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners, and colleagues
  • 8+ years’ experience of managing a small to medium sized business, ideally in with an NGO, NFP or Australian charity
  • Experience in Education (VET) industry with knowledge of establishing online educational programs would be highly desirable, as we continue to build our capability as a learning centre
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance and performance management principles
  • Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management and general finance and budgeting
