Non-Executive Director

Independent Living Villages

Since its formation 5 ½ years ago, Independent Living Villages Ltd (ILV) has created a network of purpose-designed homes for people with disabilities. Having demonstrated its SDA success the company has current development projects which will treble the size of its business within three years.

What sets ILV apart from other SDA providers is its charitable core, and capacity to work alongside NDIS participants, their families and supports, to facilitate the necessary NDIS funding to allow them to live in their new home.

The existing skills-based board of directors covers health, finance, property & development, NFP leadership, and governance.

To balance the existing expertise we are seeking an individual with executive-level experience, most probably in an NDIS provider, which has successfully navigated the implementation of the NDIS.

The position is non-executive and requires approximately two to three days per month commitment. This individual will be a member of the People and Relationships Committee of the Board.

The Company is a registered charity with PBI status, a registered Community Housing Provider, and has quickly created a reputation as one of the first organisations in Australia to focus solely on the provision of SDA inclusive of resident identification. The depth of knowledge of the existing ILV team has led to the development of strong partnering relationships in the disability sector, access to capital, NDIA, and the construction industry.

Remuneration: Given the early stage of development the charity the non-executive directors are currently remunerated at discounted rates. This will be disclosed to short-listed applicants.
