Community Engagement Professionals - Flexible Location

Independent Living Assessment

If you’re passionate about health promotion and empowering older Australians to age well, then we want to talk to you!

We’re looking for health professionals with experience in community aged care and primary health care to help us with important work in our community engagement.

Independent Living Assessment (ILA) was established in January 2020 by Indigo Australasia Incorporated (formerly ILC). ILA focus on supporting people through assessment, navigation, and sector capacity building initiatives. Our purpose is to enhance health and wellbeing by connecting the community with trusted knowledge and expertise.

LiveUp is an exciting, new national project run by Independent Living Assessment (ILA - a NFP in WA) and funded by the Department of Health to provide Australians aged 50+ with information, resources and advice around their own health and wellbeing, assistive technology and community connections. The user-friendly self-assessment tool is a first in Australia!

We are about to launch a website and app with a self-assessment tool, which is a first in Australia! LiveUp will be promoted nationally via a range of online and offline media. But we know that older Australians will be more receptive to resources that their GP, health professional or service provider recommends. This is where you come in!

THE ROLE

A team of community engagement professionals across different states and territories will work collaboratively with the National Community Engagement Lead and the LiveUp Project Team to drive awareness, uptake and ongoing use of the web and app through grass roots community engagement activities across Australia.

The role will involve developing and managing professional relationships with stakeholders and community partners, coordinating participation in community events and activities, and gathering local content to support development of the LiveUp website service directory.

To maximise our reach, we see this role as largely working remotely (from your home), via Teams primarily. However, community engagement will also involve:

  • Represent ILA at conferences, seminars, expos, and other forums
  • Facilitate workshops on line and face to face
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships with local ambassadors and stakeholders
  • Work with team to identify strategies to increase uptake of LiveUp suite of solutions
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in relations to all engagement activities in CRM platform
  • Contribute to the e-newsletters and other marketing tools

THE CANDIDATE

  • Passion and interest in delivering health initiatives to older Australians
  • Community related qualification such as health promotion, community development, social work
  • Community and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Facilitation, presentation skills
  • Community event planning and coordination skills
  • Sound ICT skills including Microsoft office suite and experience using databases/Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems

Importantly, you must have the ability to work remotely (from home), work well in a team, be self-motivated, accountable, and be willing to travel when required.
