About the role

IGCC is looking for a dedicated Events Manager to support delivery of the IGCC 2021 Investor Summit. This role will report to the IGCC General Manager and work closely with the Team & Communications Assistant.

The major focus of this role will be the planning, coordination, execution and marketing of the 2021 IGCC Summit to be held in October 2021, as well as supporting other IGCC events throughout the year.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and deliver a major investor conference in October 2021
  • Coordinate IGCC’s 2021 Climate Awards process
  • Coordinate and oversee financial planning and budgeting for the IGCC Summit, in conjunction with IGCC Finance & Governance Manager
  • Engage and liaise with a professional conference venue organiser to ensure the efficient delivery of venuelogistics and event coordination.
  • Assist in design and coordination of an online delivery and participation mode for the conference
  • Coordinate marketing of IGCC Summit, including copywriting, event listings, collateral and promotional activity
  • Assist in securing and liaising with sponsors for the event
  • Be able to coordinate and liaise with high level/profile speakers and IGCC members for the event
  • Oversee event registrations and conference attendance
  • Oversee any potential volunteers/ interns assisting with the event
  • Monitor and evaluate activity against communications and education objectives
  • Coordinate follow up communication with sponsors and attendees of the Summit
  • Support other IGCC events as required throughout the year.

This role will also provide additional events management support to IGCC for other ad hoc events throughout the period, including the IGCC AGM.

Skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience managing various types of events, including project management and budget oversight.
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with drafting, scheduling and managing eDMs to support the delivery of an events work plan.
  • Experience using tools to manage and coordinate projects and tasks.
  • Experience with Wordpress and website content management.
  • Familiarity with various communications technologies and CRMs including Zoom, Slack and Hubspot, as well as conference and event applications.
  • A skill for managing busy people to deliver work for your own priorities.
  • Confidence to lead and ability to work autonomously. A positive approach to problem solving and team relationships.
  • Professional demeanour and an ability to build a constructive rapport with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to bring fresh creative ideas to the delivery of events.
