The Inner Eastern Local Learning and Employment Network (IELLEN) is seeking to appoint a Field Officer for a brand new role. Whilst we prefer full time (38 hours pw), hours are negotiable for the right candidate.
The SBAT Field Officer will coordinate partnerships with schools, industry, young people and employers. The position is to commence from July 1 2022, for an initial period of twelve months. The role will build partnerships with participating schools and employers and deliver on the following outcomes to support young people:
Since 2020 the IELLEN contract with DET has had a focus on achieving KPI’s in sourcing SWL opportunities from employers, and having them “consumed” (ie taken up) by students. This role also supports this part of the DET contract and will support the SWL Program Manager to assist achieving this KPI, and to generally respond to needs of both industry and schools through student placements, focusing on SBAT’s, and also SWL placements.
The IELLEN is an independent and incorporated (not for profit) association. Our Mission is to improve lives through education, employment, and welfare support, especially for those who vulnerable and at risk - including young people.
The organisation is primarily funded by the Victorian Government through the Department of Education and Training (DET) and, since April 2021, the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR). The DET contract focuses on school – industry engagement. This includes Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) opportunities, School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SBAT) opportunities, as well as school - employer engagement activities.
This is a contract role which ends 30 June 2023. However, should the role meet KPIs and funding be available, it is envisaged that a contract may be renewed for a further period. Appointment will be made subject to three months’ probation and clearance from a police background check about working with young people. Superannuation will be paid by the IELLEN at the prescribed rate as specified within the Superannuation Act.
The IELLEN is head quartered in St Kilda. The position will require travel across our catchment, largely the LGAs of Stonnington, Port Phillip and Boroondara.
At the time of writing the pay range is $70,000pa to $80,000pa, plus Super.
However, the IELLEN is finalising an application process to the ACNC for charitable (PBI) status. Assuming this is approved, the position will benefit from salary sacrifice arrangements.
Salary package includes a laptop, mobile phone and a travel allowance.
