The Opportunity

Join a large team of qualified, motivated health promotion practitioners working across the inner east of Melbourne. The AccessHC health promotion team partners to create change and build environments that support health and wellbeing in early years centres, sporting clubs, schools and local communities.

This is an entry level role for an emerging health promotion professional. It is primarily located at our Hawthorn site (plus community and remote working) and reports to the Health Promotion Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation and evaluation of health promotion within community settings
  • Work with the health promotion team across a range of portfolios
  • Establish and foster local partnerships
  • Use a place-based approach to address determinants of health and apply an equity lens
  • Identify and apply for funding opportunities to grow our work
  • Contribute to planning and reporting of the Community Health-Health Promotion program

Skills & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Health Promotion, Public Health or other relevant discipline
  • Eligibility for registration as an IUHPE Registered Health Promotion Practitioner
  • Less than one year post-university experience in Health Promotion or Community Development
  • Experience working collaboratively with others, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to quality improvement, health promotion principles and an equity lens
  • Excellent written, report writing and time management skills
  • (Desirable: fluent in a community language in addition to English).
