The ICLC is a dynamic community legal centre located in the heart of Kings Cross on Gadigal land. Specialising in casework, law reform and advocacy, we practice discrimination, human rights, criminal and employment law. This position will work closely with our project partners, the Kirketon Road Centre (KRC) and the Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP NSW) to ensure that clients of those services are effectively triaged and supported to access the legal advice and casework services provided by the ICLC.
The Community Access worker will closely monitor the progress of referrals made to ICLC and will provide direct support to maximise effective referral outcomes by supporting clients in appointments, liaising with external health care workers and other agencies, obtaining client consent, collating documents and supporting communication between partner agencies.
This position is based at ICLC offices in Kings Cross and will involve regular travel to KRC, SWOP NSW and other city-based outreach locations to engage with staff and users of those services. Some after hours and weekend work will be required to attend community events.
The ICLC is a flexible workplace offering time in lieu, work from home options and a paid end of year closure of 2 weeks in addition to 4 weeks annual leave. Salary packaging options may mean a tax saving of up to $8,000 per annum.
This is a part time position that is being offered as a .6 FTE (21 hours per week) or .8 FTE (28 hours per week.)
