About the Role

The House Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of a designated residential site and ensuring service delivery meets the needs of the individuals we support.

Our sites provide 24/7 service to an average of 4 residents and this full-time role is onsite 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. This is an exciting opportunity to perform a variety of tasks and collaborate with residents and a team of support workers to coordinate the weekly routines of all residents and enhance the smooth running of your site.

We currently have a full-time position available at our Petersham site, with a weekly roster of 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday, averaging 38 hours per week over a 4-week period, including a Rostered Day Off (RDO).Remuneration commencing from $62,738 per annum (SCHADS Level 3.1) + Super + Salary Packaging.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the smooth running of the site and promoting an inclusive, homely environment through consistent practice and collaboration with staff and residents.
  • Directing daily activities including domestic tasks, grocery shopping, activity planning, medical appointments, social connections and outcome focused work;
  • Completing Weekly Planners with residents on a weekly basis and ensuring these are accessible to people we support and staff.
  • Assisting and guiding support workers in day-to-day tasks and promoting active engagement.
  • Facilitating house meetings including residents and their support networks on a monthly basis.
  • Completing incident notifications and supporting risk management and safeguarding actions.
  • Ensuring compliance with WHS Policies and procedures.

About You

Essential Criteria:

  • Cert 3/4 in Mental Health or similar field, or at least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • Driver's licence, current police check and first aid certificate, or willingness to obtain
  • Understanding of issues experienced by people with complex mental illness, acquired brain injury or intellectual disability.
  • Experience in Conflict management, de-escalation, incident management and prevention.
  • Commitment to recovery orientated practice and understanding of person-centred approach.
  • Ability to work closely with a multidisciplinary team
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced IT skills including MS Office and computer/laptop usage
