Independent Community Living Australia is a community organisation established in 1987. Our core activity is to promote people’s independence, active participation and inclusion in the community to live a valued life.

ICLA is a mental health service provider and a registered Community Housing Provider. We manage a number of supported residential services across the greater Sydney region, providing affordable accommodation and mental health support for people who have psychosocial, intellectual and other disabilities. We offer a flexible and family friendly work environment for our staff providing a rewarding service to our local community.

About the Role

This role leads the redesign of ICLA’s service delivery to transform the organisation for a consumer driven and outcomes focused market. We are looking for an experienced individual who has proven experiencing running disability services that can contribute to a positive organisational culture to support ICLA’s strategic objectives. The role has 8 direct reports and oversees a team of approximately 100 employees.

About the role

  • Produce new service delivery frameworks, and transformed service delivery workplans, incorporating:
  • Clear lines of accountability within a Systems Leadership approach and functional structure 
  • Clear, documented implementation and workplans for Support Coordination, Supported Living, Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Services 
  • Develop and implement evidence based mental health and disability services including innovative befriending and peer service offerings
  • Support & upskill Service and Practice Managers in recovery-oriented service provision, coaching, practice, clinical governance and risk management
  • Lead growth in the number of people we support, maintain occupancy above 80% and develop new markets
  • Support our transformation to a consumer driven organisation
  • Contribute to business development, ICLA’s strategy and interaction with ICLA’s Board

About you

  • You hold Tertiary Qualifications and Registration in psychology, social work or other related discipline  
  • Demonstrated experience with evidence and data-driven approaches and consumer market focused 
  • Demonstrated ability to build a culture of accountability by setting the right metrics and tying performance to tangible results 
  • Advanced technical skills with relevant clinical, non-clinical, recovery oriented and peer-based frameworks  
  • Expert risk management skills 
  • Excellent oral and written ability to communicate effectively with staff and management. 
  • Proven advanced leadership skills  
  • Experience with coordinating and reporting at board meetings  
  • Excellent  attention to detail and process orientation  
  • Demonstrated high-level of discretion and sensitivity in dealing with confidential matters  
  • Customer-focused mindset
