International Coalition to End Transplant Abuse in China

Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director (ED), the Business Development Manager (BDM) will spearhead development efforts as ETAC continues to grow. In this new position in the organisation, the BDM will propose and discuss strategy with the ED and will have the opportunity to build the development function of the organisation. The BDM will design and execute a comprehensive development strategy for ETAC.

Responsibilities include to:

  • Develop and execute ETAC’s annual fundraising plan
  • Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations
  • Raise funds by conducting research, prospecting, and applying to multiple donor sources
  • Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors
  • Plan and implement special fundraising activities and events
  • Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising
  • Utilise online platforms for funding outreach activities
  • Maintain databases of funders and present a monthly report on progress

Required qualifications and skills include:

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant field
  • Industry experience with proven results
  • Development/Fundraising: Evidence of successful development for a small to medium sized nonprofit with experience and success fundraising from multiple donor channels.
  • Project Leadership: Experience in planning, leading, and managing development projects, including coordinating with peers to achieve desired outcomes, and tracking and reporting on progress to senior managers/board of directors
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Ability to act with initiative and actively seek to deepen current donor relationships and forge new ones
  • Communications: Evidence of skills in creating powerful, compelling written and oral communications for fundraising. Evidence of ability to convey complex ideas through brief, simple materials. Experience when presenting materials to external audiences.
  • Influencing: Evidence of using convincing arguments to share ideas and create momentum and capacity to build enduring relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Evidence of capacity to work effectively with others to reach common goals and objectives
  • Relationship Building: Evidence of skills at establishing and cultivating strong relationships with peers, across different levels of the organisation and externally
