The Legal Services team works to support and enable Indigenous Business Australia’s vision for a nation in which the First Australians are economically independent and an integral part of the economy. We assist Indigenous Australians to buy their own homes, own their businesses and invest in commercial ventures that provide strong financial returns and can also provide employment, training and supply chain opportunities. 

Working in a dynamic and innovative team with the support and supervision of IBA’s General Counsel and Senior Lawyers, you will have involvement in high value transactions (including acquisitions and divestments, structuring and the development of new products), negotiate commercial agreements, prepare reports to the Commonwealth Parliament and Ministers, undertake legal research and provide legal advice on a broad range of matters including administrative law, statutory interpretation, employment matters, intellectual property, credit and funds management.

You will work closely with all areas at IBA (Home Ownership, Business Solutions, Investments and Asset Management, and Business Services) and will play a key role in the provision of timely and high-quality advice to the business.

To succeed in this role, you will be committed to IBA’s vision, and be an enthusiastic team player with excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and a strong work ethic. You will also possess a highly developed capacity to work effectively in a high-volume environment to meet commercial deadlines. 

A tertiary qualification in law together with two to five years’ post admission experience is required. Prior transactional or financial services experience will be considered favourably.
