About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Prevention Policy & Research team as a Senior Strategic Policy and Research Officer.

The team provides insights on corruption and police misconduct issues and identifies ways for public sector agencies to strengthen their policies, systems and practices. We share our insights by producing reports and other resources.

Reporting to the Team Leader Prevention Policy & Research, the Senior Strategic Policy and Research Officer is responsible for research, strategic policy development and report writing in response to contemporary and emerging corruption and police misconduct issues and risks. The role will be responsible for coordinating and delivering work across the team's primary areas of activity including:

  • planning, managing and delivering strategic research and audit projects
  • preparing reports for publication on the outcomes of IBAC's projects and investigations
  • coordinating advice from a range of internal and external stakeholders to develop robust policy responses to corruption and police misconduct risks.

This is a VPS 5.1 position, full-time and ongoing.

Our requirements / Your skill set:

We are looking for candidates with the following experience and capabilities:

  • Experience in public sector (or similar) operating environments
  • Strong experience writing research and analysis reports
  • Demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and attention for detail
  • Well-developed ability to coordinate and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
