Located in Melbourne's CBD, IBAC is Victoria's independent anti-corruption agency responsible for preventing and exposing public sector corruption and police misconduct. We do this by investigating serious corruption and police misconduct, and informing the public sector, police and the community about the risks and impacts of corruption and police misconduct, and ways in which they can be prevented. Our jurisdiction covers state and local government, police, parliament and the judiciary.
IBAC has an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Prevention Policy & Research Team as a Senior Strategic Policy and Research Officer. Reporting to the Team Leader Prevention Policy & Research, the role will deliver work across the Prevention Policy & Research Team's three primary areas of activity:

  • Coordinating advice from internal and external stakeholders to develop policy responses to corruption and police misconduct risks
  • Delivering strategic research projects
  • Preparing reports for publication on the outcomes of IBAC's projects and investigations.

Key responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Analyse, research and develop authoritative briefings, correspondence, public reports and recommendations on complex policy and research issues to strengthen corruption prevention in the Victorian public sector.
  • Deliver projects on policy and research issues, and ensure project objectives are met in a timely way.
  • Prepare high-quality reports (including public reports) and provide written and verbal briefings to operational, strategic and executive decision-makers.
  • Provide analysis and advice to senior management on the policy and strategic implications of initiatives and proposals, including developing recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain effective and productive collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure products and services are timely, accurate and relevant.
