Located in Melbourne CBD, IBAC is Victoria's independent anti-corruption agency responsible for preventing and exposing public sector corruption and police misconduct. We do this by: investigating serious corruption and police misconduct; and informing the public sector, police and the community about the risks and impacts of corruption and police misconduct, and ways in which it can be prevented. Our jurisdiction covers state and local government, police, parliament and the judiciary.

Your new role:

IBAC has an exciting opportunity for a proven Strategic Intelligence Analyst to join our team. In this role you will help to inform IBAC's understanding of the public sector and police operating environments and identify and analyse associated significant or emerging corruption and misconduct issues and risks.

Strategic Intelligence work aims to inform IBAC's operational activities, including:

  • Investigation, assessment and review activities
  • Prevention, engagement and communication activities
  • Further research, audit and strategic project work

Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Research, analyse and develop strategic intelligence products on a range of complex issues to strengthen IBAC's understanding of public sector corruption and police misconduct
  • Prepare high-quality reports (including public reports) and deliver high quality written and verbal briefings to operational, strategic and executive decision-makers
  • Establish and maintain effective and productive collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure products and services are timely, accurate and relevant
  • Provide analysis and advice to senior management on strategic intelligence initiatives and proposals, including developing recommendations
  • Drive innovation within the Strategic Intelligence Unit including ways to identify emerging issues and new sources of data that support the unit's work

Capabilities that lead to success in this role:

  • Experience working in intelligence and/or research environments, and tertiary qualifications in a related field of study are highly desirable
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent research and analysis skills
  • Understanding and experience with a broad range of information systems and intelligence sources
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to develop strategies and drive innovation
  • Time management and organisation skills
