Hobart Women’s Shelter (HWS) is the second oldest women’s and children’s refuge in Australia. We provide crisis accommodation to women and children, transitional housing to families and a Therapeutic Program to families who are homeless and / or who are experiencing domestic and / or family violence.

Hobart Women’s Shelter empowers clients to lead independent and fulfilling lives. We envisage all clients being able to live in a community free from violence and injustice, where diversity is celebrated, and where clients are supported to achieve their goals.

about the role

This is a senior strategic leadership role working with, and reporting to, the CEO. The purpose of the Strategic Partnerships Manager is to work to the Hobart Women’s Shelter (HWS) Strategic Plan and manage/facilitate activities associated with:

  • Marketing and Communication, including Social Media
  • Media releases
  • Fundraising campaigns/donations
  • Stakeholder, Philanthropic and Donor relationships

The Strategic Partnerships Manager is also responsible for strategic funding relationships through co-ordination of Tender responses and Grant applications. The Strategic Partnerships Manager acts as CEO in her absence.

Key Duties include

  • Support the CEO to ensure the achievement of the organisational values, goals, and strategic vision of the organisation.
  • Collaborate and work with stakeholders, philanthropists, donors and governments to develop service partnerships, PR and media strategies to ensure collective impact.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate the HWS Communication Plan, PR and Media Strategy and Fundraising Plan.
  • Proactively research, draw conclusions, formulate concepts and work with the Family Services Manager to develop programs related to Family Violence and Homelessness, and provide regular reports on the work-in-progress to the CEO.
  • Work with the CEO to develop new initiatives and project manage to ensure effective implementation and evaluation.
  • In consultation with the CEO manage, coordinate and write tenders, strategic proposals, budget submissions, annual reports, newsletters and social media content.
  • Participate in, and actively contribute to, sector meetings, forums and committees as required.
  • In consultation with the CEO conduct presentations to the sector, business and community organisations as required.
