Hume City Council's Sustainable Environment Department is seeking an enthusiastic Sustainability Engagement Support Officer. If you have good people skills and a passion for the environment and social justice, we'd love to hear from you. In this role you will support the Sustainability Engagement Officer to organise Council's Live Green community sustainability workshops, publications and school programs, and support community-led environmental projects to bring about a more sustainable Hume.

Key Skills

• Experience organising and promoting sustainability events and workshops for a diverse community, including logistics such as bookings, promotions, managing registrations and hosting.
• Experience developing newsletter content, including research, writing, editing and sourcing appropriate images for sustainability publications.
• Ability to support schools to develop and strengthen their sustainability practices such as reducing waste, energy and water, and increasing biodiversity.
• Experience running targeted engagement activities for people living on low incomes and from multicultural backgrounds, with a focus on (but not limited to) food growing, energy saving and connecting with nature.
