Do you have experience and expertise in conservation land management? Are you passionate about enhancing native vegetation and increasing biodiversity assets?

Hume City Council has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join our team as a Senior Conservation Officer.

We are looking for someone to join our small team of highly experienced conservation officers who have high-level technical skills in an array of land management practices, including prescribed burning. The teamwork on Council owned and managed conservation reserves and have a thorough knowledge of the native vegetation values of Hume, as well as their threats.

Key Skills

  • Extensive experience in vegetation management, particularly in relation to revegetation, regeneration, landscaping, erosion control, as well as soil and site rehabilitation.
  • Sound native and indigenous plant identification skills, specifically species of the Victorian Volcanic Plains.
  • Ability to organise staff to implement a scheduled works program
