Hume City Council has an opportunity for a suitably qualified environmental professional to join our team as an Environmental Planning and Compliance Officer.

We are looking for someone who understands the natural heritage values within Hume City Council and can identify indigenous vegetation communities, flora species and fauna habitat. We want someone who can assist with building the capacity of the development industry and planning sector to achieve integrated environmental outcomes.

Key skills:

  • Well-developed understanding of Hume's natural heritage values
  • Understanding of Victoria's planning framework
  • Understanding of Water Sensitive Urban Design and Industrial Stormwater Management for environmental planning
  • Understanding of the statutory procedures in relation to compliance and enforcement of environmental issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
