The Commission is seeking two Executive and Research Assistant positions – one to work with the Human Rights Commissioner and the other with the new National Children’s Commissioner. These positions are at the APS Level 3/4 and will be non-ongoing for up to 12 months, with the possibility of becoming ongoing during this time.

Salary $58,202-$71,813 pa plus superannuation.

Duties

Provide comprehensive executive assistance and office management to the Commissioner, including:

    1. Diary management
    2. Travel/accommodation arrangements
    3. Database, file and record management (hardcopy and electronic)
    4. Data entry
    5. Updating Commission webpages
    6. Coordination of communication such as correspondence and telephone calls, including drafting responses on behalf of the Commissioner
    7. Provide limited support in these areas to Commission staff who work most closely with the Commissioner.
  1. Draft presentations and social media posts for the Commissioner and manage social media accounts.
  2. Provide budget support to the Commissioner, including processing paperwork, maintaining and acquiring office supplies, and reconciling accounts.
  3. Work collegiately with other members of the executive support team and other internal stakeholders across the Commission in the planning, administration and conduct of the team’s work and in the development and delivery of the Commission’s identified goals and priorities.
  4. Event management and logistics co-ordination for major meetings and internal Commission events.
  5. Where capacity exists, undertake research and project support for identified priority areas.
  6. Other duties as directed.
