The Commission is seeking an ongoing APS 6 Communications officer for the Strategic Communications Team.

Skills Required


  1. Demonstrated experience in successful hands-on implementation of communication strategies and activities for a variety of projects.
  2. Demonstrated experience in media engagement, including the ability to exercise sound judgement in the handling of reactive media enquiries.
  3. Demonstrated experience managing corporate social media channels to boost reach and engagement, and experience in the use of analytics to measure the effectiveness of social media activity.
  4. Superior written communication skills, with a track record of writing across a variety of different media and audiences, and an ability to articulate complex information in an accessible and engaging way way.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to perform effectively as part of a team.
  6. Excellent time management skills and ability to manage priorities and tight timelines in the most effective manner.
  7. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.


  1. Broadcast journalism experience and/or digital campaign experience and/or proven multimedia skills - particularly the ability to create, select and prepare images, audio and video content for multiple channels.
  2. Experience or familiarity with CMS systems.
  3. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or other multimedia editing software.

Salary $83,326 - $95,222

Flexible/hybrid working arrangements will be considered.
