The National Disability and Carers Alliance (the Alliance) is proud of the success of its 2011 grassroots Every Australian Counts campaign which was instrumental in the introduction of the NDIS. The Campaign did not stop there. Today, it continues to advocate to ensure the NDIS delivers on its promise to people with disability and meets the goals of the National Disability Strategy.

In this role, you will take the lead on all aspects of this important Campaign. You’ll engage closely with campaign supporters to create and implement ongoing strategies to keep the voice of people with disability heard. You will liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including the sector and all levels of government. You will keep abreast of emerging public policy and its impact on the operation of the NDIS, providing advice to Alliance members and EAC Supporters.

• Are passionate about the rights for people with disability in Australia
• Have deep campaigning experience
• Have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills at all levels, with high emotional intelligence
• Understand public policy processes
• Have a strong grasp of the structure and operation of government and political parties
• Bring knowledge and experience of disability policy, particularly the NDIS
• Have personal lived experience of disability
• Can successfully take a self-directed approach to work.

This is a part time role (30 hours per week Tuesday to Thursday) with an initial two-year contract.
