THE ROLE

In this role you will have the opportunity to use your exceptional member services skills and passion for people to make a real difference in the lives of healthcare workers. 

The core objective of this position is to provide exceptional service on all matters relating to our members’ membership with the HSU, responding to their enquiries via phone and email, processing new member applications, ensuring accurate database management and processing payments. 

Our ideal candidate will be customer-focused, with strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Experience or demonstrated understanding of general financial bookkeeping and/or basic accounting. Prior experience working in a similar role will be highly regarded.

The role is part-time (12-hours per week) with a hybrid working arrangement (work-from-home and in-office) and hours can be worked flexibly throughout the week, however, availability on Friday’s is essential.

This is a fixed-term position (12-month contract), with the possibility of extension.

ABOUT THE HSU SA/NT BRANCH

The Health Services Union South Australia/Northern Territory Branch (HSU SA/NT) is a specialist industry union representing workers in the health and community services sectors.

HSU SA/NT members are employed at hundreds of worksites across both South Australia and the Northern Territory. These worksites include public and private hospitals, pathology laboratories and collection centres, private practices, and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations. HSU members are allied health professionals, medical scientists, phlebotomists, medical couriers, Aboriginal health workers and clerical and administrative staff.

HSU SA/NT is committed to advancing and protecting the wages, conditions, and workplace rights of members through campaigning, workplace activism and a focus on member recruitment and development.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the HSU SA/NT Employee Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2021 which includes:

  • Generous salary (pro-rata for part-time)
  • 5 weeks’ annual leave (pro-rata for part-time)
