THE ROLE

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to play a key role in protecting and advancing the rights of workers in the health and community services sectors.

Your excellent leadership, communication and organising skills will motivate a small team to build HSU SA/NT into a powerful union.

If you've held a similar position in another union or have experience as an Organiser, Lead Organiser or in Campaigns and Advocacy and are ready to step up to the next level, this is the role for you.

The role is full-time (38-hours per week) with occasional out-of-hours work. This is a fixed-term position (12-month contract), with the possibility of extension.

The successful applicant will be required to travel to worksites around SA (primarily metropolitan Adelaide) so must hold a valid Drivers License. The successful applicant must also be able to obtain and maintain a Right of Entry Permit under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cwlth).

About the HSU SA/NT Branch

The Health Services Union South Australia/Northern Territory Branch (HSU SA/NT) is a specialist industry union representing workers in the health and community services sectors.

HSU SA/NT members are employed at hundreds of worksites across both South Australia and the Northern Territory. These worksites include public and private hospitals, pathology laboratories and collection centres, private practices, and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations. HSU members are allied health professionals, medical scientists, phlebotomists, medical couriers, Aboriginal health workers and clerical and administrative staff.

HSU SA/NT is committed to advancing and protecting the wages, conditions, and workplace rights of members through campaigning, workplace activism and a focus on member recruitment and development.

Benefits

This is a full-time position (38-hours per week, Monday to Friday) and the successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the HSU SA/NT Employee Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2021 which includes:

  • Generous salary
  • 5 weeks’ annual leave.
  • 12 Rostered Days Off (RDOs) per year.

The position is based in our office in Parkside, SA.
