At the Luke Priddis Foundation (LPF) Centre for Autism, we believe in providing and promoting awareness, understanding and support for people and their families with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other special needs. We aim to deliver a range of complimentary health, welfare, therapeutic and educational services within a safe and respecting environment. The LPF Centre for Autism paves the way to lifelong individualised therapies and support delivered with compassion and purpose.

Due to the significant growth of our practice, we are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Speech Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team (which includes Psychology, Speech and Occupational Therapy) on a Full Time basis.

About the role:

The role of Speech Pathologist is to develop and deliver client assessments and treatment / management plans to assist them reach their potential. The Speech Pathologist will be responsible for:

  • Delivering intervention via both face to face interactions and via Telehealth.
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Providing evidence-based assessment and treatment plans and interventions to children, adolescents and young adults across the home, school and community, both in individual and in group settings.
  • Educate and support parents, carers, families and teachers in how to encourage skill building and guide development in order for each individual to reach their full potential.
  • Join the multidisciplinary team in formulating and leading group programs for preschool, primary and high school-aged children.
  • Maintain case notes and complete letters and reports in a timely manner
  • Take part in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Assist community members and other professionals to understand and promote strengths of individuals on the spectrum.

Essential skills, experience & qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in Speech Pathology, accompanied by current practicing membership or eligibility for practicing membership to Speech Pathology Australia. Some relevant work experience will be highly regarded.
  • Highly motivated and passionate about supporting children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with the profession’s code of ethics and function in accordance with legislation affecting speech pathology practice and all professional development requirements for maintenance of membership with SPA.
  • Eligibility for Medicare Provider Number
  • Capacity to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritise work, and remain calm and collected under stressful situations, such as crisis intervention
  • Current NDIS Worker check, including NSW Working With Children checks and police clearance for paid employment
  • Current valid NSW driver's licence and use of own vehicle
