An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Youth Development Coordinator to join the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation. Western Bulldogs Community Foundation is a separate entity that works hand-in-hand with the Club and utilises the Bulldogs brand as a platform to engage a wide range of participants and positively influence their lives. The Foundation is registered as a Public Benevolent Institution with DGR status and has its own Board. WBCF works in partnership with government, corporate and community agencies to deliver evidence based services and programs to over 5000 people annually through four streams i.e. Health & Wellbeing, Diversity & Social Inclusion, Youth Leadership & Development and Community Advocacy

About the role

Whilst this role commences as part-time 4 days per week, it is likely to progress to full-time in 2021.

The role of the Youth Development Coordinator provides dynamic youth leadership and development programs for young people living in the west of Melbourne and Victoria. This role is also responsible for:

  • Coordinating, delivering and evaluating all WBCF youth programs.
  • Developing and managing a staff resourcing plan for WBCF youth development programs.
  • Managing the delivery budget for WBCF youth development programs
  • Providing coordination and delivery support to other WBCF youth related initiatives.
  • Engaging key targeted groups and schools to increase cultural diversity and inclusion across programs.

Program Coordination & Evaluation

  • Coordinate with local partners, program stakeholders, multicultural and indigenous communities.
  • Coordinate program evaluations and develop reports to councils, partners and sponsors.
  • Support the implementation of recommendations from the Youth Programs Review.
  • Support the development of new youth-based programs that are consistent with WBCF strategy.
  • Represent WBCF on program advisory groups and committees where required.

Skills and experience

  • Bachelor of Youth Work, Social Work, Community Development, Psychology related fields
  • Workshop facilitation skills and program design
  • Stakeholder management
  • Community development, mentoring & teaching
  • Strong networks within culturally diverse community in Melbourne’s west
  • Cultural Awareness & youth mental health background a plus
