About the role:

Working as part of a project team, Career Coaches will support newly arrived Afghan evacuees to navigate skills recognition, educational and career pathways to rapidly enter the Australian labour market and develop a viable career plan.

Building on the strengths and capabilities of each person, the coach will provide information, skills development, and guidance to enable participants to overcome employment barriers.

These positions will work closely with Afghan communities and key settlement stakeholders in ensuring that participants develop strong social and professional networks that support vocational outcomes. Coaches will engage with participants through a mix of individual and group work delivered via online and face-to-face methods.

About you:

You are energetic, experienced working within a coaching, mentoring or similar framework, and are passionate about inclusion and innovative practice.

You thrive in environments where you working as part of a diverse team to achieve results, where personal and professional learning is encouraged and where your own unique skills, knowledge and experiences you bring are valued.

You are pro-active, responsive and use initiative when you identify opportunities or barriers, and you work “with” people not “for’” them to create enabling environments where individuals can lead their own change.
