The Opportunity:

This is a crucial leadership role in the organisation that ties together strategic corporate management and finances, the Board and the CEO to ensure the business areas achieve organisational objectives.

As a strategic advisor to the Board you will guide the organisation through challenges around people, risk, compliance and contract management, technology, and strategic finances whilst playing the role of Company Secretary.

You will have the opportunity to drive change and innovate, and support strategic initiatives including developing and harnessing commercial opportunities arising from new IP. You will deputise for the CEO when the opportunity arises.

The Role:

The primary function of the General Manager is to lead the finance function and the overall operations of the organisation.

Key responsibility areas are financial (CFO), governance, risk and compliance, monitoring review and reporting, and corporate administration. Supporting the commercialisation of IP will be a new, exciting element of the role. A detailed job description is available at interview stage.

The Person:

The ideal candidate is a CPA/CA with a strong technical accounting background, who has progressed into corporate leadership positions within medium sized commercial of NFP/NGO organisations.

You have strategically advised Boards and Senior Executives about maximising the finances, people and resources across an organisation, and have sound commercial acumen. Whilst your core skills have come from the finance domain, you are adaptable and enjoy a broad role across corporate functions where you can add the most value. Ideally you have experience with complex contract management, potentially around government funding or intellectual property.

The Salary/Rate:

$170K - $180K + Super and free parking.
