ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a positive and dedicated Youth Residential Support Worker for a permanent part-time position at our new purpose-built refuge in Melton. In this role you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in young people’s lives. You will complete client file notes as needed and assist with administration duties to help operations run smoothly. On a day-to-day basis you will provide support and assistance with living skills, connections with the community, personal and social development, employment, education and training. You will also assist young people to follow up actions from their case management plans including housing, income, education and training, health and wellbeing and general living skills and recreational activities.

ABOUT YOU

You have completed a relevant tertiary qualification in social sciences, human services, community studies, relevant experience and are looking forward to starting a role where you can have a real impact. You have demonstrated knowledge of youth focused practice frameworks such as strengths based or trauma informed practice. You have highly developed communication skills including relationship building, problem solving, report writing and you pride yourself on your ability to motivate and advocate for clients to achieve outcomes. You would describe yourself as a team player and you enjoy interacting with a wide range of people. You are competent using the full suite of Microsoft applications and maintain accurate administrative records and progress notes.

You will be available to work the set roster of 36 hours per fortnight: Wednesday and Saturday 4 pm to 11.30 pm (S/O); and Thursday, Sunday 7.30 am – 9.30 am.
